Chi-Town

August 30 to September 4

It is so exciting to be back in Chicago and here to celebrate the marriage of my best friend, Mark "Snoop" Kutilek and his lovely wife Amy. Preseason Bears game on Thursday, rehearsal on Friday, Cubs on Saturday (plus the Map Room later, and pizza way later), and the wedding on Sunday. I am lucky to survive that, although it may have contributed to me giving a long best man speech and forgeting to toast (the DJ told me to go back up on stage). What a great wedding and celebration! It was probably the best one I have ever been to complete with mosh-volleyball on the danceflo!
Labor Day was crazy Libertyvillain style. Our last Michigan beers before the West, meat and awesome food by the Groner women. We needed a day of rest on Tuesday before hitting the road.

Starting our Travels

We are backdating our blog due to our procrastination. Sorry. We are jerks.

August 30, 2007

Our biggest regret was working so hard and leaving Michigan so fast. It did not give us down time to emotionally detach ourselves, and get closure. It was very hard to leave our friends and we hope you all enjoy this. I will always remember renting our house and packing up with three weeks left in Michigan. I was awesome to be homeless and crashing with my parents and the Thrills' (Mills'). Thank you so much for your love and hospitality.
We start our road trip in our newly purchased Toyota Highlander and have trouble fitting all our stuff. I convince Meg to consolidate her spice container with the kitchen stuff container and she has enough room for her feet for the drive to Chicago. Good thing we have this 3 hour dry run and are staying with Meg's parents so that we can dump things we thought we would need. We will miss Mary Free Bed, Founder's, and the Mitten! Here is a sunset after wine tasting on Old Mission Peninsula.
